UNiDAYS discounts at Platypus are often available for a limited time but can offer good value for students. From what we have seen, student codes such as NZ$10 off may sometimes be available without the usual NZ$100 minimum spend required by Kick Club. These offers do not usually last long, so it is worth checking for updates regularly. Our team keeps an eye on this Platypus page to help shoppers stay informed when new student deals become available.
A reliable pair of white sneakers can go with almost anything, whether you're dressing for uni, heading into town or updating your everyday wardrobe. Platypus stocks familiar footwear labels such as Vans, adidas and Nike, making it a useful place to compare styles without visiting several different retailers. One product-focused Platypus promotion we've featured offered NZ$30 OFF selected men's white sneakers with no minimum order required. On an eligible NZ$150 pair, that would have brought the price down to NZ$120, a 20% saving without needing to buy additional items. Unlike a general footwear sale, the offer was limited to particular styles, so choosing a qualifying pair mattered. We like finding these targeted Platypus deals because they're especially useful when you've already decided what kind of sneakers you're after.
Verify active student status through Student Beans or UNiDAYS to receive a 10% discount code via email. Apply code during checkout on online footwear purchases at Platypus.
Kicks Club is Platypus’ membership programme, and joining is automatic once you are a member. The programme mixes access perks with a spend-based reward mechanic, and the spend rewards are the part that can make the biggest difference to your total cost if you plan purchases deliberately.
As a member, you are automatically enrolled into Kicks Club. Membership gives you access to special events, sales, offers, competitions, and a birthday gift, usually in the form of Platypus promo codes. The core spend-based benefit works like this:
For every NZ$100 you spend, you are rewarded with a NZ$10 promo code.
The reward is stackable, so spending at least NZ$300 would trigger a NZ$30 promo code.
This matters because stackable rewards can be easier to maximise when you plan around a clear threshold. If you are buying for a household, or you have friends and family who already intend to order, grouping purchases so you hit NZ$200 or NZ$300 in one go can unlock a larger promo code without increasing total spending; you are simply organising it more strategically.
Platypus offers free express shipping on orders above NZ$150; otherwise, delivery costs NZ$9.99 and arrives within 1 to 3 days in metro areas or 3 to 8 days regionally. If you are below the threshold, Click and Collect may be available at a nearby outlet. We compare delivery options carefully, as combining purchases into one qualifying order can remove the shipping fee entirely.
Platypus gift cards are available in two designs with custom amounts between NZ$20 and NZ$999, activating 24 hours after being sent. For sneaker enthusiasts who prefer choosing their own fit and style, flexibility matters. We often suggest sending gift cards ahead of major sales, allowing recipients to maximise value once active.
The buy more and save more campaign sometimes offers up to 30% savings when purchasing at least two items. If you are already considering multiple pairs or accessories, bundling them can reduce the average price per item. We monitor these campaigns closely, as qualifying quantities can shift and affect your total discount.
Using Afterpay at Platypus allows you to pay 25% upfront and split the remaining balance into instalments every two weeks. For more expensive sneaker purchases, this can make costs easier to manage over time. We recommend checking your repayment schedule before placing an order so you can stay on top of payments and avoid any late fees.
